Manchester City have returned with interest in highly-rated Valencia attacking midfielder Jaume Dura, according to new reports from Spain.
The Premier League giants have continuously expanded their scouting footprint across Spain in recent seasons, particularly targeting technically gifted midfielders capable of adapting to Pep Guardiola’s positional play.
This approach has already seen Manchester City circle around rising playmakers at Barcelona and Real Madrid, while also exploring emerging talent in Portugal and South America as part of a wider youth recruitment plan.
Valencia, meanwhile, continue to protect their best young players aggressively due to financial pressures and a renewed sporting focus on academy development. Their youth system has produced elite talent in recent years, including Ferran Torres; who City had signed before his eventual move to Barcelona.
Now, according to the information of Cadena Cope relayed by El Desmarque, translated by Sport Witness, Manchester City have renewed transfer interest in Valencia Under-19 talent, Jaume Durà.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder only renewed his contract with the La Liga side until 2027 last year, but off the back of Manchester City interest prior to that extension for the Spain Under-17 international.
While City are admirers, the report does not specify whether there could be a move in January or next summer, but the Premier League club would have to wait until next summer for the player to arrive in the UK should terms be agreed – with Dura turning 18 in May.
Durà currently captains Valencia’s Under-19s and is widely viewed as one of Spain’s most exciting midfielders in his age bracket, featuring prominently across the national youth setup.
Looking ahead, much will depend on Valencia’s willingness to negotiate and their desire to integrate Durà into first-team plans. Manchester City, for their part, have shown patience and strategic precision with teenage recruitment, preferring early positioning in the market.
For now, Durà returns to the list of highly-rated Spanish prospects monitored closely by Manchester City and another name to follow as the club continues to future-proof their midfield options for the Pep Guardiola era and beyond.
