Valencia await Agirrezabala tests after fresh knee setback | OneFootball

Valencia have suffered another injury blow, with Julen Agirrezabala facing a possible meniscus issue after training on Saturday. According to El Chiringuito, there is major concern he could miss the rest of the season.

The goalkeeper was in the final stages of rehab and had been tipped to make the squad to host Alavés on Sunday. The new problem occurred before the Osasuna game at Mestalla. It follows setbacks for Diakhaby, Foulquier and Copete.

Agirrezabala had been sidelined since a knock in the match against Celta de Vigo and has missed the past two months.

He is awaiting medical tests to determine the extent. In the meantime Stole Dimitrievski will keep goal for Valencia in the coming weeks.

The Macedonian has impressed in recent outings and offers security between the posts. Agirrezabala’s loan expires at the end of the season, when he is due to return to Athletic Club.
