Valencia have unveiled their first signing of the summer, Justin de Haas, with a social media video shot in El Cabanyal, a neighbourhood long regarded as Levante territory, AS reports.
The club’s branding leans on local identity, echoing past themes such as 'ADN Mediterráneo' and 'Terra de Valentia'. This announcement is framed under the motto 'Tierra de Valentía'.
The promotional clip takes in streets and landmarks from the area, along with the sea and local fishermen.
El Cabanyal-El Canyamelar y Malvarrosa is considered the historic cradle of levantinismo, and El Cabanyal is often seen as Levante’s comfort zone, with many households backing the blaugrana.
Last season Levante recorded 19,624 members, 8,681 within the city, including 863 in the Poblats Marítims, compared with 587 valencianistas there.
Valencia plan to showcase the city and Valencian culture during player presentations at Mestalla this summer, continuing the club’s recent positioning.
