La Liga outfit Valencia have on Saturday been dealt a concerning blow on the personnel front.
This comes owing to developments in the club’s latest league outing.
Valencia marked their return to action earlier this evening, making the trip to Catalunya for a meeting with struggling Girona.
And when all was said and done, Los Che found themselves condemned to the wrong side of a disappointing 2-1 result.
As alluded to above, though, the eventual outcome proved far from the only concern for the day’s visitors to the Estadi Montilivi.
In addition, during the opening exchanges, Valencia saw defensive leader Mouctar Diakhaby forced to limp out of proceedings.
After pulling up suddenly whilst sprinting for the ball, the Guinea international quickly made clear that he was in no fit state to continue.
Diakhaby, in turn, was hauled off, replaced in Carlos Corberán’s backline by summer signing José Manuel Copete.
It now remains to be seen just how serious the former’s injury proves to be.
