Valencia head to England with plenty still to fix in pre-season | OneFootball

Valencia have entered their fourth week of pre-season by travelling to England for a second summer camp. According to AS, they will work at St. George’s Park until Saturday as they seek an upturn after a patchy start.

Carlos Corberán has a full week to sharpen his side after three friendlies against lower-tier opponents yielded only one win, over Eldense.

They face Derby County behind closed doors tomorrow, then Stoke City on Saturday at 19:30 to round off the trip.

The squad trained this morning at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna without Sadiq and Pepelu, who ended the Castellón match with discomfort. The Nigerian forward, along with Foulquier and Rubén Iranzo, will remain in Valencia to continue treatment.

Four signings have arrived so far, De Haas, Dieng, Guido Rodríguez and Sato, but further additions are needed to lift performance. Right-back remains the main headache for Mestalla’s decision-makers, who are working on a solution.

Exits are also stuck, though Danjuma and Almeida have been given the green light to leave. Danjuma has not featured in either friendly at Paterna against Eldense and Castellón, and although under contract, Corberán has not used him in early sessions.

After the England camp they will return to work in Paterna before the Trofeo Naranja, which will present the team to fans at Mestalla on eight August against Newcastle.
