O Jogo reports that Enzo Barrenechea’s Benfica future is undecided and Valencia are among the clubs exploring a move for 2026/27. A summer exit is being considered, either via a permanent deal or a loan that includes an option or obligation to buy.

Benfica aim to recoup a significant portion of their outlay on the midfielder. He joined from Aston Villa in a package that reached 15 million euros after an obligation to buy was triggered by sporting objectives.

Any departure would influence next season’s midfield plans. Manu Silva, initially viewed as a possible exit, is set to be assessed by Marco Silva during pre-season and could remain in the squad.

In 2025/26 Barrenechea played 2,967 minutes, scoring two goals and providing one assist. He was among the more frequently used midfielders for much of the campaign.

He is valued at 12 million euros.
