Valencia register LaLiga signing Van Oevelen, keeper could make Betis squad | OneFootball

Valencia have registered goalkeeper Van Oevelen with LaLiga on Tuesday and he could be included in the squad to face Real Betis. According to Superdeporte, the Dutchman joins for the 26/27 campaign.

Pablo Maffeo was registered on Friday and featured on Saturday against Celta de Vigo at Mestalla.

All signs point to Stole Dimitrievski starting on Tuesday against Real Betis, with the debate then shifting to the third league match against Deportivo. Carlos Corberán will have to decide, and Van Oevelen has a week to try to convince him.

The towering Dutchman, who arrives on loan, had not boarded the bus taking players to the team hotel, but remained at the hotel awaiting his team-mates. Corberán must make two omissions and, if he includes the new signing, Raúl Jiménez is likely to be one of them, with Stole and Rivero the other two goalkeepers in the squad.

Iker Córdoba, Panach, Otorbi and Jaume Durá are the other academy players involved, from whom the other omission is presumed to come.

Asked on Monday about the goalkeeper addition, Corberán focused on the sporting case, saying the staff favour having two starting keepers. He stressed that competition is welcome and necessary, that last season the team would not have collected its points without two top goalkeepers, and that it is important to have two starters ready at any moment to keep the position well covered.
