Valencia open their LaLiga season on Saturday 22 August at Mestalla against Celta Vigo, who again have European commitments. According to Superdeporte, preparations continue with selection calls shaped by injuries and potential late arrivals.

The squad still needs work, with Ron Gourlay aiming to strengthen every line. For the opening XI there are few doubts unless a new signing such as Arnau Martínez arrives in time.
