An update on the wellbeing of Valencia star Diego López has been provided late on Monday evening.

And the news will come as a boost for all hopeful of seeing the 21-year-old back on the pitch sooner rather than later.

López, for his part, was forced into a premature departure from Valencia’s La Liga meeting with Almería earlier this month.

This came after a blow to the face left the attacker grounded, and in evident discomfort.

After being hooked from proceedings, and put through a series of medical tests, it was subsequently confirmed that the former Barcelona talent had suffered a broken zygomatic bone in his left eye.

López, in turn, underwent surgery last week, to resolve the issue.

And, just six days on, he was back on the training pitch in Valencia.

That’s according to Relevo, who have today provided an insight into the remarkable recovery progress being enjoyed by the Spanish starlet.

López, it is confirmed, was present at the Paterna Sports City on Monday, to undergo an individualised training session.

Sporting a pair of sunglasses to protect his still sensitive left eye, the winger was spotted carrying out ‘continuous running exercises’ over the course of the morning.

As much comes with López keen to maintain his fitness as best he can, in the hope of making his comeback against Real Madrid on the 2nd of March.
