Valentin Rongier is fit to play again for Stade Rennais after fracturing his nose in training on 21 July. According to L'Équipe, the captain will feature on Saturday against Brentford in a friendly.

Rennes plan to share minutes across the squad with two games on the day, at 11:00 behind closed doors at La Piverdière, then at 17:00 at Roazhon Park.

He underwent surgery the following day and remains under usual protective measures. He has trained all week in a mask after individual, non-contact work the previous week.

The 31-year-old midfielder missed the meetings with Club Bruges, a 2-1 win on 25 July, and Galatasaray, a 3-3 draw on 2 August.

After Brentford, Rennes have one more friendly at Sunderland on Saturday 15 August at 16:00. Their league campaign starts on Sunday 23 August at 20:45 against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.
