Mexico is in the quarterfinals! The U-17 Women's National Team secured their place in the next round of the 2025 Women's World Cup in Morocco after defeating Paraguay 1-0 at the Mohammed VI Football Academy.

Valeria Alvarado was in the starting lineup for this match and had an outstanding performance throughout the 90 minutes. Her constant effort in the Mexican attack paid off, as the winning goal came from her boots: she took a corner kick from the left side and sent a great cross to the far post, allowing her teammate to connect with a header and score the only goal of the match in the 16th minute.

The collective work of the Tri, added to Alvarado's great contribution, allowed Mexico to continue its journey in Morocco towards the quarterfinals. Now, the next challenge will be against Italy, in a do-or-die match for a place in the semifinals, which will take place on Sunday, November 2, at 1:00 p.m. (TCM) at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
