Groningen beat PEC Zwolle 3-0 to rise from 10th to sixth in the Eredivisie.

Thom van Bergen opened the scoring in the 20th minute, steering in after David van der Werff slipped him through. Jorg Schreuders doubled the lead with a low strike from outside the box (43.).

After the restart, substitute Tygo Land made an instant impact, rifling into the top right from range (68.) after van der Werff's set-piece delivery.

Etienne Vaessen kept things tidy at the back with an early save from Koen Kostons, while Jasper Schendelaar prevented further damage with four stops as Zwolle chased a response.

Ibrahim Cissoko's first half injury forced an early change for the visitors, who never recovered their attacking rhythm.
