🎥 VAR breaks down during the African Champions League final!

Clearly, 2026 has been anything but easy for Jean-Jacques Ndala.

Having become infamous after losing control of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final (Senegal–Morocco), the Congolese referee faced a VAR outage during the first leg of the African Champions League final this Sunday (Mamelodi Sundowns–FAR Rabat).

At first, the second half resumed without video assistance, before VAR was eventually restored during the match. The game then continued under normal conditions.

The first leg of the final in Pretoria ended in a 1-0 win for South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns FC against Morocco’s FAR. The return leg is scheduled for May 24 in Rabat (9 p.m.).
