Vasco are pushing to sign Argentine midfielder Alan Lescano from Argentinos Juniors, with a final step dependent on court approval for a R$ 150 million DIP facility before the window closes. According to PaponaColina, the club remain optimistic and the 24-year-old has signalled he is open to moving to Brazil.

Behind the scenes in Argentina, Argentinos Juniors last week acquired the remaining 50% of Lescano’s economic rights from Gimnasia La Plata, securing 100% of any future sale.

Known as Pipa, the playmaker has been the top scouting priority to sharpen Pedro Emanuel’s side. After Sunday night’s league match against Aldosivi, he said he did not know what would happen, had focused on playing and would speak to his representatives, adding that if he leaves he will be happy to have represented the club. Separately, the club have scheduled a R$ 4.12 million payment on Monday 31, the first instalment of an agreement ratified at the CNRD, the CBF’s National Dispute Resolution Chamber, covering January to August 2026. This outlay is secured even before the DIP funds, removing the risk of a transfer ban and allowing new signings to be registered.
