NT Vascaínos reports that Vasco have agreed salary terms with midfielder Douglas Luiz, who wants to return to Brazil in this window. The 27-year-old belongs to Juventus and is on loan at Nottingham Forest.

His push is driven by sporting reasons. He believes this could be his last chance to play at a World Cup. He and his representatives met Juventus to set out the need for more minutes, aiming to catch Carlo Ancelotti's eye and secure a 2026 World Cup place.

He views Vasco as the ideal platform to regain his place with Brazil.

Even with mutual desire and a preliminary agreement, the deal is complex. Vasco must persuade Juventus that Brazilian football offers a better shop window than the Premier League, and also arrange an early end to the Nottingham Forest loan.

Finances are another hurdle. Juventus do not intend to cover any wages, and Vasco could pay only about 50% of his current salary. His camp are working behind the scenes to find a compromise, using his wish to return as leverage.
