Vasco close in on Del Valle striker Spinelli | OneFootball

Vasco have reached a financial agreement with Independiente del Valle to sign Claudio Spinelli, 29, with only paperwork and a medical to complete.

Vasco will purchase the Argentine’s rights after two loan offers, one with a buy option, were rejected. Atenção, Vascaínos first reported the agreement.

The deal is set to cost around US$ 2 million, roughly R$ 10.5 million. Payment will be spread over a little more than two years, a common strategy for the club. The move is viewed as a market opportunity given the relatively low fee and wages by Brazilian standards.

Centre-forward is a market priority after the team lost Rayan and Vegetti in that department. Brenner has been signed as first choice, with GB currently the reserve. The hierarchy want a striker in the Vegetti mould, strong in the box, combative and aerially proficient.

Spinelli stands at 1.80 m and is regarded as having good spring. His best season came last year at Del Valle, scoring 28 goals in 50 matches. He netted four in six in the Libertadores and four in eight in the Sudamericana, including two against Vasco.
