Vasco said in a statement that forward David Corrêa will continue training and remains available for selection after a police operation targeting him on Monday.
Director of football Admar Lopes set out the club’s position, stressing full co-operation with authorities and that there will be no comment until the investigation reaches an official conclusion.
The update leaves head coach Pedro Emanuel able to call on the attacker, who is training as normal with the squad this week.
Civil Police from Espírito Santo, supported by teams from the 14th DP and the Desarme division, executed search warrants at the player’s home in Barra da Tijuca and at CT Moacyr Barbosa in Jacarepaguá. Phones, computers and documents were seized at the residence. At the training ground, officers found only boots in his locker, accompanied by technical director Felipe Maestro and manager Clauber Rocha.
The case forms part of Operation A Tropa, which investigates an alleged interstate network trafficking drugs and weapons, including purported links involving businessmen and other players in Brazilian football.
