Friday is decisive for Vasco’s push to sign Richarlison. With the window closing, they need agreements with Tottenham and the forward, and there is still no deal.
According to Globo.com, an opening offer of 10 million euros, without bonuses, was rejected and the club do not expect Richarlison to end his Tottenham contract unilaterally.
He has notified Tottenham and moved to take legal action after being left out of the Premier League squad and facing reserve training. On Thursday he joined the first-team warm-up. He is still seeking a termination while Vasco pursue a permanent deal.
Vasco believe a higher offer could unlock progress, but the player’s stance is key. Richarlison is not minded to sign a long Brazilian deal. The plan discussed was to stay until December 2026, and Vasco proposed three and a half years.
Relations have deteriorated. Interest from Trabzonspor of Türkiye and Everton did not advance, and Tottenham rejected 15 million and 20 million pound bids from the Turkish club.
His wish to play for boyhood Vasco until year’s end keeps talks alive, fuelled by fan mobilisation. A loan fell foul of a FIFA limit, so only a permanent purchase is possible and no rescission has happened. Vasco must now convince Tottenham and settle terms before the deadline.
Vasco are set to confirm centre-back Gabriel Pereira, arriving from Copenhagen, on loan with an obligation to buy. Al-Ahli will not sell Matheus Gonçalves this window after turning down offers from Botafogo and Vasco.
