Vasco fans protested at São Januário after a 1-0 home defeat to Bahia in the Brasileirão on Wednesday, booing Fernando Diniz and branding the team "time sem vergonha".

According to Globo.com, cups were thrown towards the coach as he left the pitch.

Frustration also targeted the players during the game, with jeers greeting Philippe Coutinho’s withdrawal for Rojas, and Lucas Piton making way for Paulo Henrique.

It was not the first flashpoint for Diniz. He was called "burro" during the draw with Madureira, and insulted again against Chapecoense.

No Vasco player stopped for interviews at full time.

Vasco are winless after three league matches, with two defeats and one draw. They have one point, sit 18th, and could slip to the penultimate place by the end of the round. Over their last 11 Brasileirão games, spanning eight from last season and three this term, they have nine defeats, one draw and one win.
