According to Globo.com, Vasco start the week aiming to finalise paperwork for Brenner and Hinestroza so they could be available to Fernando Diniz on Thursday, when the club open their Brasileirão campaign against Mirassol.

The pair arrived in Rio at the weekend. Brenner landed on Friday and underwent medical checks on Saturday. He has not yet been announced due to documentation, but confirmation is expected soon. He has already visited the training centre for assessments.

Hinestroza, whose pre-agreement was announced, has begun his medicals. The club are working to regularise both forwards and to register them in time for the match.

Once paperwork is complete, Diniz will assess their fitness, with first on-pitch work under him planned for this week.

After the win over Boavista, Diniz said using them against Mirassol is possible but uncertain. He noted they have not trained and neither has signed yet, stressing that bureaucracy comes first. He added Brenner’s medicals are fine, while Hinestroza has been tested.

Brenner last played on 23 November in the MLS Eastern Conference semi-final, when Cincinnati lost 4-0 to Inter Miami. He was a regular starter and scored six goals in 10 matches in that run.

Hinestroza’s most recent appearance was on 17 December in the Copa Colombia final, starting as Atlético Nacional beat Independiente Medellín. His season yielded seven goals and nine assists in 56 games, along with the Copa Colombia and Supercopa de Colombia titles.
