Vasco raise offer and push for Facundo Colidio from River Plate | OneFootball

According to PaponaColina, Vasco have stepped up talks and lodged a new official bid for Argentine forward Facundo Colidio, owned by River Plate. The Rio club have increased their offer to US$ five million, around R$ 25.3 million, for 50% of his economic rights. They have a verbal agreement with the player, with payment structure and paperwork still to be settled with River.

The deal gathered pace after Colidio expressed internally his wish to leave River and requested a move to Vasco. Sporting director Admar Lopes used a trip to Argentina last week to intensify direct talks with River executives. Both sides are working in good faith to align final terms before the transfer window closes.

A new addition up front has become a priority at São Januário after modest attacking returns in 2026. Brenner, David and Claudio Spinelli have scored 11 goals between them this year, fewer than the 14 netted by Fluminense striker John Kennedy.

Colidio, 26, came through Boca Juniors’ academy and was bought young by Inter Milan. He impressed at Tigre, forming a notable strike partnership before joining River Plate.

He is regarded as versatile, with mobility to play wide and the craft to operate as a second striker or false nine.
