Vasco ratings: Léo Jardim, Paulo Henrique and Spinelli rated lowest against Santos | OneFootball

Léo Jardim, Paulo Henrique and Spinelli received the lowest marks in Vasco’s player ratings after the meeting with Santos. According to Globo.com, Jardim’s mistakes proved costly and came while Vasco were chasing an equaliser.

The goalkeeper misjudged a charge from his line and punched the ball against Willian Arão for a goal, having already looked uncertain earlier in the first half. He also spilled a routine ball that allowed Luan Peres to score Santos’ third.

Paulo Henrique lost composure after Santos’ second, arguing, conceding cheap fouls and taking part in the passage that led to the free-kick for the third. Jair departed after 11 minutes with a right thigh injury. Debutant Santiago Sosa initially struggled with positioning, then settled as a near third centre-back. Tchê Tchê worked to cover Neymar and squandered Vasco’s best opening early in the second half at 0-0.

Thiago Mendes had a lively first half despite an ankle issue and pre-match exchanges with Neymar, finishing the game. In attack, Colidio impressed before fading, while Andrés Gómez was busy on the right before dropping off after Santos’ second. Hinestroza offered industry without end product, Spinelli’s effort was undermined by technical limits, and David’s introduction coincided with a loss of attacking thrust.

Coach Pedro Emanuel’s side began on the front foot, but substitutions weakened Vasco and he could not lift the team. He was not responsible for Jardim’s errors on two of the three goals.
