Vasco have sealed the signing of Marino Hinestroza from Atlético Nacional on a four-year deal after beating Boca Juniors. According to Globo.com, the 23-year-old accepted the Rio club's offer, becoming their third addition for 2026.
Atlético Nacional accepted an offer of around US$ five million, about R$ 30 million, for 80% of his economic rights. The Medellín side preferred Vasco's bid because of the stake they will retain.
Boca Juniors had a deal lined up with Atlético Nacional and the player was expected in Argentina, but the Colombians did not complete the transfer.
With the contract signed, Vasco expect Hinestroza in Rio de Janeiro in the coming days and intend to announce him soon.
Vasco’s interest dates back to last year, with initial talks before Admar Lopes arrived, when Carlos Amodeo led negotiations after Marcelo Sant'ana's departure. Lopes, who also approves the signing, later revived contacts. At the time the club secured Andrés Gómez, while Hinestroza also had interest from Fluminense and Palmeiras.
Vasco want to unveil Brenner and Hinestroza this week as they target more attacking options in this transfer window.
