Vasco tracking Rodrigo Becão amid Botafogo and Venezia interest | OneFootball

Vasco are monitoring 30-year-old Brazilian centre-back Rodrigo Becão as they prioritise a heavyweight addition to strengthen their defence. The Fenerbahçe player has spent most of his career in European football.

PaponaColina reports that the club are following his situation closely, with competition from Venezia and city rivals Botafogo. The race could intensify in the coming days of the transfer window.

The main obstacle is the price. Fenerbahçe have set an initial asking price of two and a half million euros, about R$ 14.7 million, for a permanent deal, excluding wages, signing-on fees and other operational costs.

Any push is linked to the release of institutional funds during Vasco SAF’s corporate transition. The board expect backing from Marcos Lamacchia, viewed as the probable new controller of the football operation, to table formal offers while the squad focus on the Copa Sul-Americana and the Campeonato Brasileiro.

Becão came through Bahia’s academy, then impressed at CSKA Moscow before spending four seasons with Udinese in Serie A. He is regarded for physical presence and aerial strength.

He has played in Türkiye since last year after joining the Istanbul club to anchor the back line. The move for experience aligns with head coach Pedro Emanuel’s plan to add leadership to the first line of defence.
