Vasco have rejected Grêmio's approaches for right-back Paulo Henrique, opting not to advance talks over a potential deal.

According to Globo.com, the 29-year-old received a strong offer from Grêmio but did not pursue it out of respect for Vasco's stance. Clubs in Brazil and abroad have made enquiries since late last year, yet none progressed.

Grêmio are monitoring the market and could sign a right-back if a financially viable opportunity arises and the player fits the coach's plans.

Paulo Henrique has started 2026 slowly but should regain his starting place at right-back in the next match against Fluminense. A foot issue kept him out recently, and he returned to the bench for the Bahia and Volta Redonda matches.

Vasco are not looking to sell any starters, and would only consider Paulo Henrique's exit for an offer they regard as impossible to refuse. He is on Brazil's national team radar.

The club have already lost Rayan and Vegetti this year. Vasco were caught by surprise by number 10 and captain Coutinho's request to terminate his contract, and he is set to leave during this window.
