Vasco da Gama are weighing offers for their 2026 main shirt sponsor after ending their Betfair deal, with an automotive suitor emerging but betting brands still in front.
According to PaponaColina, the board is pursuing a minimum R$ 70 million per year, and while a car maker would add prestige, helped by the Nike tie-up, current numbers lag behind betting firms.
Brazil’s betting sector is spending aggressively, so their proposals are the richest. Automakers have historically paid less for shirt deals in Brazil.
ZeroUmBet and EnergiaBet have been in talks, and Bet365 has now entered strongly. It is one of the largest in the industry, with global partnerships such as the UEFA Champions League, led by billionaire Denise Coates.
Bet365 have never sponsored a Brazilian club shirt, so an agreement with Vasco would be a first in this format. The board want strong guarantees and protective clauses, aligning with a consolidated multinational profile.
There is time but also a deadline, with an announcement targeted by March. The club would rather play the State Championship and early Copa do Brasil with a clean shirt than accept a cut price deal.
An automaker remains a luxury alternative. The current outlook points to a betting company, the only sector ready to meet the R$ 70-80 million range the club seeks.
