Veiga nets first goal in Mexico on loan: 'My story will be special'

Raphael Veiga needed just one chance to turn his first start into an important night at América-MEX. The midfielder, on loan from Palmeiras, opened the scoring in the 4-0 away victory over Club Puebla.

Wearing the number 23 jersey, Veiga showed opportunism by taking advantage of a precise cross from Isaías Violante and scoring with a header, marking his first goal for the Mexican club in his fourth match, precisely his first as a starter.

Quick Adaptation and Prominence

Signed on loan at the beginning of the month after a successful stint at Palmeiras, where he became an idol, Veiga begins a new chapter in Mexico that already shows signs of prominence in Jardine's team.

Still in the process of adapting to the country, the style of play, and the altitude, the midfielder highlighted the importance of the reception at the club and the presence of coach André Jardine and other Brazilians in the squad to ease the acclimatization.

About adapting to the country, getting along with new teammates, and André Jardine, Raphael Veiga says:

As I said, I haven't even been here for a month and I'm still getting to know my teammates, understanding the coach's style of play, the squad, and adapting to the country. I was very well received by everyone, received a lot of affection from the Mexican people, and that makes a total difference. The presence of André Jardine and the other Brazilians also helps a lot. Besides, the club's structure is fantastic and provides us with the best conditions to perform at the highest level.
