Venue set for Boca vs Gimnasia de Chivilcoy in Copa Argentina | OneFootball

Salta governor Gustavo Sáenz has confirmed Boca will face Gimnasia y Esgrima de Chivilcoy at the Estadio Padre Ernesto Martearena in the Copa Argentina round of 32 on Tuesday 24 February, with kick-off to be confirmed.

Boca drew 0-0 with Millonarios of Colombia at La Bombonera in their first pre-season friendly. Claudio Úbeda’s side travel to San Nicolás on Sunday to meet Olimpia of Paraguay in the second and final game of their summer tour.

The Apertura campaign then begins. The cup tie falls after the clásico against Racing and before Gimnasia de Mendoza, both scheduled at La Bombonera, so Boca will travel in between.

The Padre Ernesto Martearena holds around 30,000 and a sell-out is anticipated. Gimnasia y Esgrima de Chivilcoy, who play in the Torneo Federal A, provide the opposition.

Boca have played eight official matches at the Martearena and are unbeaten, with five wins and three draws. They were, however, knocked out of the 2006 Copa Sudamericana there by Nacional on penalties. Their last visit was on 10 August 2022, a 1-0 win over Agropecuario.
