VfB Stuttgart are monitoring Wolverhampton Wanderers and Czech Republic centre-back Ladislav Krejčí, Bild reports.

Krejčí’s future at Wolves is uncertain after the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season. Although they may be unable to recoup the full €30 million paid to sign the 27-year-old from Girona, he will not be offloaded on the cheap.

A switch to Stuttgart is considered realistic only if the Bundesliga side first sell a player to raise funds.

Jeff Chabot, who has been linked with a move to Italy, and Ramon Hendriks, who has paused contract talks, are cited as potential departures.

Should either leave, Krejčí would reportedly become Stuttgart’s top target to replace them.

The defender captained Czech Republic at the World Cup, featuring in all three group-stage matches and scoring in the opening game against South Korea.
