VfB Stuttgart’s Deniz Undav, 29, has responded after Julian Nagelsmann said Germany’s attack needs attention, with the forward on 18 goals and 11 assists in 33 appearances and no German player posting a better output in 2025/26.

Nagelsmann told Kicker the attack is “certainly one area we need to address”. Options include Niclas Fullkrug, Kai Havertz, Tim Kleindienst, Nick Woltemade, Jonathan Burkardt and Undav, and it is unlikely six forwards will be nominated.

“I haven’t read the interview,” Undav told Bild.

“Ultimately, I’m a striker with good stats. I deliver week and week and try to earn my place.”

“I haven’t spoken to him since the winter break. He doesn’t need to talk to me.”

“My arguments are on the pitch. That’s what I’m trying to show him. As long as I keep scoring, it’ll be difficult to get past me.”
