Tonight's 3-2 defeat to TSG Hoffenheim doesn't appear to be the end for under pressure coach Paul Simonis at VfL Wolfsburg.
"We will go into the next few days together. We have a very important game ahead of us [against Werder Bremen].
“We have a very important game ahead of us. We want to concentrate all our efforts on it,” said sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz.
Although nothing is certain about the future of the Dutch coach, it appears he will get one last chance next Friday evening to save his job.
“The team reacted well [going 2-1 down]. Unfortunately, we weren’t good enough defensively," Simonis said, after the game.
"We didn’t stick to our plan, but it was still a good performance against a good opposition. For me, it’s an undeserved defeat.
“The most important thing now is results. We’re disappointed. Conceding three goals is far too many. It was quiet in the dressing room after the game,” he added.
