Chelsea have been in plenty of trouble with the refs this season, but this is a novel way of getting the officials onside…

The Blues have just done their new pre-match huddle routine, this time with a new addition – referee Paul Tierney.

It looks like the ref was standing in the centre circle to do the coin toss, and wasn’t going to move just so that the Blues could do their silly new piece of psychological warfare. Fair enough, to be honest.

Chelsea’s tricks bound to backfire eventually

The deliberately provocative huddling up in the middle of the pitch which began back in January was designed to wind up other teams, but it was bound to eventually get refs on their case too.

We would imagine that the Blues will get told to stay in their half if they want to huddle, and that will be the end of this silly chapter.

You can imagine this image is going to be wheeled out every time there’s a game where we get a few decisions in our favour…

The Filip Jorgensen saga took another turn today when it was revealed that goalkeeper wasn’t even on the bench for Chelsea.
