(Video) Battle in Doha — Egypt U17 refuse to fall as they hit back against Venezuela
Egypt's U17 team currently struggling to secure victory against Venezuela in their 2nd group stage match of the FIFA U17 World Cup Qatar 2025 which's being held at the Aspire Academy Stadium in Doha on Friday.
They managed to equalize 1-1 with difficulty in the 54 minute.
After opening their campaign with resounding 4-1 victory over Haiti, the young Pharaohs now face tougher test against Venezuela who previously surprised England with 3 -0 win in their opening match.
Venezuela struck first in the 18 minute through Marcos Maitan who rose highest to head home from right-wing corner capitalizing on lapse in Egypt’s defensive marking.
The South Americans nearly doubled their lead on the stroke of halftime but the post denied fierce long range effort.
Despite trailing 1- 0 at the break, Egypt U 17 regrouped impressively. Their persistence paid off in the 54 minute when striker Hamza Abdelkarim powered in brilliant header to level the score.
Goalkeeper Omar Abdelaziz also pivotal producing several sharp saves to keep Egypt in contention.
