Tanzanian striker Clement Mzize has officially won the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Goal of the Year award for 2025.
The goal that caught Africa’s attention
Mzize's goal came during Yanga's 3-1 victory over TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League. The young striker received the ball outside the penalty area, surged forward at high speed, and unleashed a powerful shot into the top corner of the net.
What this recognition means for Tanzanian football
The player became one of the first Tanzanian players to receive a major individual award from the Confederation of African Football.
