Tottenham Hotspur defender Djed Spence has been spotted arriving in Italy to complete a move to Inter Milan.

The Italian side have been chasing Spence this summer, but were initially put off by the costs of the deal, which they felt were unaffordable.

Tottenham though gradually lowered their demands for the full-back and Inter Milan have been able to make a breakthrough.

A deal has been struck on the basis of a €30m fee for Spence, with a further €5m in add-ons, while the defender will sign a five-year contract.

Tottenham are also keeping hold of a ten per cent sell-on clause, giving them a further stake in Spence and potentially more money down the line.

Now Spence has arrived in Italy in order for Inter Milan to put him through a medical.

The defender has been spotted in Milan and Inter Milan will want to get the deal wrapped up soon.

Spence faced substantial competition for a starting spot under Roberto De Zerbi at Tottenham this season and has been willing to move on.

He is not an unknown quantity in Serie A, with the league also known to Spence, due to a loan stint at Genoa earlier in his career.

Genoa were keen to keep hold of Spence on a permanent basis, but were unable to agree a deal and he returned to Tottenham.

The defender has done his homework on joining the Nerazzurri, speaking to England team-mate John Stones, who made the move earlier this summer.

Now Spence will have a new adventure back in Serie A, as he looks to help Inter Milan retain the Scudetto this season.

There could also be a further English flavour to the Nerazzurri before the summer window closes as Inter Milan continue to chase Liverpool
