Inter have suddenly accelerated their pace on the transfer market, completing two deals in the span of hours, as they have come to terms with Tottenham to acquire Djed Spence and with Lazio for Davide Frattesi, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.
The Spurs asked the Nerazzurri less than in previous weeks. The two sides concurred on a €30M fee, plus €5M add-ons and a 10 percent sell-on clause. The fullback will sign a five-year contract and will make €3M annually plus bonuses.
Spence will replace Denzel Dumfries on the right wing, while Inter will step up their efforts for Curtis Jones after shipping off Davide Frattesi to Lazio. They have agreed to a peculiar deal with the Biancocelesti, which have to navigate heavy financial limitations. The two hierarchies are working on the final details.
The midfielder is transferring on a €1M loan with a €14M conditional obligation to buy. Additionally, the Serie A winners could pocket €3/4M add-ons, and more importantly, 50 percent of the ‘plusvalenza’ if he leaves Rome in the future.
The Tottenham man will be in Milan on Friday for the medicals. He logged 2 goals and 3 assists in 85 matches in London. He’s returning to Serie A after a short spell at Genoa. Instead, the 26-year-old is leaving the Giuseppe Meazza after 3 campaigns, during which he appeared in 112 tilts, hit the net 15 times and provided 12 helpers.
Good deals all around, as the fullback’s price tag came down, increasing his appeal, which was already high. While he’s no Dumfries, the World Cup raised his profile, and they don’t necessarily need another super-duper offensive weapon. The Italian found an excellent landing spot, and the Nerazzurri could eventually get a decent income.
