Chelsea lead at the City Ground! After a first half which was being called the worst the Blues had played all season (and that’s saying something), Josh Acheampong has scored a header to put his team ahead and grab his first ever Chelsea goal.
It all came from Pedro Neto really. After a bad free kick was recycled to him on the edge of the box, he could have swung in another cross. But instead he used his explosive speed and close control to burst to the byline before clipping a perfect ball in. Acheampong was still up for the set piece, and even though he was criminally unmarked, he still did well to time his jump and punch his header beyond Mats Sels in the Forest goal.

Pedro Neto whips in a low free kick.
Neto didn’t wait long to add to his good game – shortly afterwards he fired a free kick through the Forest wall from edge of the box through some dodgy goalkeeping from Sels to make it 2-0.
There were concerns over the Portugal star’s fitness for today – thank god he did end up starting.
Now with a two goal lead, we have the tasty prospect of Estevao Willian coming on later in the game with the chance to entertain and attack the home team on the counter as they push forward to try and score.

There is some concern about Wesley Fofana, who was supposed to be back today after a concussion, but instead is not in the squad at all. We’re told it’s not injury related – which is even more worrying in a way.
