Viktor Gyokeres struggled to keep a straight face as Sweden boss Graham Potter joked about Manchester City’s charges during a national team press conference.
According to Goal.com, the briefing turned playful while Potter discussed a rash of illness-related withdrawals, saying they had been hit by a bug and quipping their absentees matched City’s list of charges. He then asked, "Too soon?"
As the room mixed gasps with laughter, cameras found Gyokeres beside his manager, visibly stifling a smile. Clips of the exchange have since gone viral.
On the pitch, the 28-year-old has started the break strongly, scoring two goals in two Nations League games for Sweden.
That follows what has been described as a testing start at Arsenal, where competition for places remains fierce under Mikel Arteta. Talk has surfaced that he could look elsewhere for regular starts.
Gyokeres played down any departure chatter, saying: "It’s clear that I want to play football as much as possible. Hopefully that will come, too. You always want to be on the field as a football player."
