Villarreal B seek a fourth straight win to stay top of Group 2 of Primera Federación, hosting Antequera at the Mini Estadi at 18.45. They have opened with three victories, including a 0-3 at Huesca.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, David Albelda welcomed the nine-point start but cautioned that the season is long.
Abraham Paz’s side have sampled all three results so far, beating Ibiza, losing in Zaragoza and drawing with Alcorcón. The trip also brings homecomings for academy graduates Dani Alcover and Carlos Mangada, now in goal and at centre-back for Antequera.
Albelda expects a demanding contest against a settled opponent. He notes Antequera have kept their core, their coach and their possession-first idea, which he views as an edge at this stage.
He says Villarreal B must show their best and remain themselves, while paying close attention without the ball. When Antequera have it, they handle it well and look for the box quickly, so work without the ball will be key.
With Facundo Viveros serving the second match of his ban, Albelda has most of his squad and could stick largely with the Huesca line-up. Possible XI: Yakiv Kinareikin in goal, César Bonafé, Álvaro García, Enric Pujol and Eneko Ortiz in defence, Nizar El Jmili, Cheikh Thiam, Pablo Pascual and Joselillo Gaitán in midfield, with Nico Baratucci plus Ayman Arguigue or Albert García up front.
