Villarreal Femenino start 2026/27 build, pre-season under way and five signings added | OneFootball

Villarreal Femenino have begun pre-season as Jordi Ferriols sets up the 2026/27 Primera Federación campaign, with a push for promotion to Liga F.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, medicals were completed on Monday and the first session took place on Tuesday at the Ciudad Deportiva Pamesa Cerámica in Vila-real.

Villarreal fell short last term after losing to Valencia Féminas in the decisive play-off. The club have kept their core, added youth and bolstered the academy pathway.

Five signings so far. Carla Santaliestra and Natalia Serrano were announced on Tuesday, joining Lucía González, Montse Alabart and Vera Rico.

Midfielder Lucía González, 20, has signed until June 2028. A Levante UD product, she featured in 12 Liga F matches.

Rico returns to the club where she developed, while Alabart, Santaliestra and Serrano increase depth and competition across the squad.

Retained players include Aixa Salvador, Svenja Paulsen, Irene Miguélez, María Cienfuegos, Lauris, and goalkeepers Montse Quesada and Mar Segarra, with Nerea Pérez, Sara Medina, María Romero and Albeta also continuing. María Macías, Marta Querol and Gigi Moreira remain on two-year deals.

Academy prospects Balma Villamarín, Zuzanna Sadej, Andrea Catalá and Adriana Casanova have been promoted to the first team.

Balma, a Castellón-born forward born in 2010, has extended to 2027/28. She joined at nine and debuted last season at 15 in Primera Federación, also featuring in the Copa de la Reina.

Departures are Lucía Gómez, Martuka, Marta Estupiñán, Claudia Enseñat, Danna Pesantez and Simona Meijer, creating room for arrivals and youth.
