La Liga outfit Villarreal have kickstarted negotiations with their counterparts at Almería, over the signing of a member of the latter’s goalkeeper ranks.
That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Luís Maximiano as the player in question.
Shot-stopper Maximiano is for his part fresh off a solid campaign between the posts at Power Horse Stadium.
Despite Almería’s eventual relegation, the 25-year-old largely held his own, on his way to starts in 33 of the club’s 38 La Liga fixtures.
And, in the process, Maximiano evidently piqued the attentions of the powers that be at one of Spanish top-flight’s most prominent clubs.
As per the aforementioned Matteo Moretto:
‘Villarreal are in negotiations with Almería for Luís Maximiano.’
The Yellow Submarine are of course on the lookout for fresh blood between the sticks heading into the new campaign, after selling no.1 Filip Jörgensen to Premier League giants Chelsea.
It now remains to be seen whether the board at La Cerámica are wiling to meet the demands laid out by Almería.
