Villarreal will receive around one point two million euros from Fer Niño’s move to Elche, courtesy of a sell-on clause and without entering negotiations.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the Cádiz-born striker leaves Burgos to return to the top flight after Elche agreed a fee of about four million euros with the Castile and León club.

Villarreal kept 30% of the player’s economic rights in summer 2023 when they facilitated his switch to Burgos, a provision that now delivers a sizeable windfall.

The club are also watching Haissem Hassan, with Celtic Glasgow the leading suitor.

Oviedo are pointing to his 12 million euro clause and Villarreal hold 40% of any future sale, so they could earn almost five million if a deal goes through. A move appears likely after the Asturian club’s relegation.
