Villarreal to seal signing of Napoli star on Wednesday | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Villarreal are on the verge of adding to their defensive options with a view to the 2025/26 campaign.

This comes amid confirmation that the Yellow Submarine are all set to sign Rafa Marín from Italian champions Napoli.

Defender Marín is for his part fresh off a hugely underwhelming debut campaign in Naples, which saw the 23-year-old afforded a grand total of just four appearances.

The widespread expectation, in turn, has long been that Marín would be granted a departure from Antonio Conte’s squad this summer.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then as much now appears close to imminent.

As per a report from Marca:

‘Rafa Marín will be a new Villarreal player on Wednesday. The player will undergo a medical and, if nothing unusual is found, will strengthen the Yellows’ defense for a Champions League season in which Villarreal aims to excel.’

The agreement in place is understood to come in the form of a one-year loan, featuring an option to buy next summer for €15 million.
