Vini Jr declines Virgínia’s pyjamas plea, keeps Flamengo shirt on | OneFootball

Vini Jr kept his Flamengo allegiance front and centre in a bedtime snap, choosing the club’s shirt over matching pyjamas during a playful moment with girlfriend Virgínia.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the Real Madrid forward only agreed to the photo while wearing the 2001 jersey associated with Dejan Petkovic’s decisive goal against Vasco in the Carioca final.

Virgínia said he would wear coordinated sleepwear on one condition, that a Flamengo top featured. Vini Jr replied that it is always Flamengo, adding a laugh.

Reactions were mixed. Flamengo fans enjoyed another public nod to his boyhood club, while some users teased the couple for a cheesy turn on social media.

It was not a first. He recently posted a photo with the Manto Sagrado belonging to friend Danilo, a hero of last year’s Libertadores title, and shared an image of team-mate Camavinga in Flamengo colours.

He has also engaged directly with his club of heart, recording a message wishing Lucas Paquetá success after his signing. Flamengo later voiced support for their academy graduate after another racist attack in a recent Champions League match against Benfica drew worldwide attention.
