Vinicius Jr. has spoken about his future at Real Madrid, insisting he remains calm and unconcerned despite ongoing speculation surrounding his contract situation.
The Brazilian forward addressed the issue after delivering a Man of the Match performance in Madrid’s dominant 6-1 Champions League victory over AS Monaco at the Santiago Bernabeu.
With his current deal running until 2027, talks over a renewal have been ongoing for some time, but no final agreement has yet been reached.
However, Vinicius made it clear that the lack of progress does not worry him.
“There’s a lot of talk about renewal, yes, but I have another year left. We’re very calm. I trust the president and he trusts me.
“We have a very good relationship and, when the time comes, we’ll sort things out. We’re in no rush.”
Beyond his contract, Vinicius also touched on a much broader subject, which is the dismissal of Xabi Alonso.
The Spaniard, who was hired last summer, was dismissed by the club soon after the 2-3 defeat against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final.
Vinicius, on his part, always shared a vague relationship with Alonso and when asked about his sacking, he said,

“There’s nothing I can do. I can only give it my all. I won’t always perform at my best technically, but I’ve always given my all for the team.”
Vinicius went on to explain how he adapts his game depending on what the team needs in each moment.
“When others are lacking in goals, I try to assist; when I have to defend, I try to defend… Of course, I’m not the best defender on the team… There are other players for that.”
The Brazilian also addressed criticism head-on, acknowledging that scrutiny is part of life at the Bernabeu. Rather than pushing back, he showed maturity and acceptance.
“The press says what it wants, and the fans think and understand that they have to criticise me.”
Still, he made it clear where he finds motivation and strength, especially during challenging spells:
“But I think the best way to improve is to come home and be welcomed at the Bernabéu by the best fans in the world.”
He ended his comments with a statement that will resonate strongly with Madrid supporters, reaffirming his long-term commitment to the club.
“I want to stay here for a long time.”
