The Santiago Bernabéu turned on Vinínius Júnior, with 83 decibels recorded when his name was read out, the loudest reaction among the starters and above the whistles for Jude Bellingham. He was jeered throughout the meeting with Levante.

EL PERIÓDICO reports that he has told his entourage he wants to leave Real Madrid, adding that he does not want to play where he feels unwanted.

Vinícius has struggled to accept being singled out for the Albacete cup exit, having been one of the two senior players to fly and play at Carlos Belmonte. Thibaut Courtois, Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo did not feature, and Álvaro Arbeloa initially said the Brazilian wanted to be there and play every minute to help. He later clarified to deny that any players refused to travel.

His renewal has become contentious, with Florentino Pérez backing him, even overruling Xabi Alonso, while the forward has raised demands seeking parity with Mbappé and believes the club has undervalued him. The events at the Bernabéu have further tested his patience.

An on-field flashpoint after being substituted against Barça at the Bernabéu, followed by a statement apologising to everyone except the coach, and an earlier dispute over a benching in the United States, have also shaped perceptions. Before 26 October, Fede Valverde publicly in Kazakhstan, and Jude Bellingham privately, had challenged the coach.

Arbeloa defended him post-match, saying the boos were not from a majority, praising the display shown against Barça a week earlier and promising to keep finding him because he is one of theirs. The player viewed that defence as a reproach for overlooking his trip to Albacete. After the Levante game he ran straight to the dressing room without greeting anyone.
