Vitinho has returned to Corinthians' squad after more than four months out. The forward has travelled to Rio de Janeiro and could feature under Fernando Diniz against Flamengo at the Maracanã on Sunday at 17:30 in the 27th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

His last appearance came in April, a 2-0 win over Peñarol in the Libertadores group stage. According to Meu Timao, a series of physical problems then kept the number 11 sidelined.

He suffered a right hip injury in early May and missed around two months. In July he began pitch-based work and was nearing a return, only to sustain a left knee issue.

Diagnosed with a meniscus injury, he underwent surgery, then started a fresh physical transition in early September. He is now back among the selected squad to face his former club, which he represented from 2018 to 2022.

With Flamengo he won one Libertadores, two Brazilian league titles, two Supercopas do Brasil, one Recopa Sudamericana and three state titles.

Aged 32, Vitinho has made 38 appearances for Corinthians, scoring once with four assists, and won the 2025 Copa do Brasil. He has 13 starts and is under contract until December.
