Vitinho will only be back for Corinthians after the World Cup break, with the 32-year-old dealing with two injuries.
According to Globo.com, the forward has been absent since 2 May and will not be involved against Platense on Wednesday in the Conmebol Libertadores, or Grêmio on Saturday in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
He suffered a strain of the right hip obturator muscle during the match against Peñarol on 30 April at Neo Química Arena, which triggered his spell on the sidelines.
Subsequent tests also found damage to the hamstring tendons, which attach at the ischial tuberosity. He previously underwent surgery at that site in 2023 to repair a similar problem.
He has now recovered from the muscle strain and is in treatment for the tendon injury. The medical team are pursuing a conservative approach, although surgery has not been ruled out.
There were no fresh updates for several weeks after he was first sidelined with hip pain.
Fernando Diniz can turn to Memphis Depay, Kaio César, Jesse Lingard and Dieguinho for the wide roles.
Vitinho is under contract until the end of the season. He has four assists and one goal in 38 appearances, and missed a month and a half between October and November last year following right knee medial meniscus surgery.
