Vitinho resumes partial training as recovery advances at Corinthians | OneFootball

Vitinho has begun his physical transition after surgery on the meniscus in his left knee. He took part in partial work with the Corinthians squad in Thursday's session, the club said.

He has not played since 30 April, when Corinthians beat Peñarol of Uruguay 2-0 in the Libertadores group stage at Neo Química Arena.

After that game he sustained a strain to the right hip obturator muscle and an injury to the hamstring tendons during training.

On 15 July he entered the transition phase, completing reduced-load ball work on the grass, before the 32-year-old suffered a new injury to the meniscus in his left knee on 24 July during a team activity.

He underwent surgery five days later at Hospital Albert Einstein, performed by Dr Moisés Cohen and accompanied by Corinthians doctor Dr Ricardo Gallotti.

Signed in August 2025 after a spell with Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, Vitinho has made 32 appearances for the club, with 17 wins, six draws and nine defeats, plus one goal and four assists.

He was part of the squad that won the 2025 Copa do Brasil and is contracted to Corinthians until December 2026.

In October 2025 he also sustained a medial meniscus injury in his right knee during a 3-0 win over Mirassol in the Campeonato Brasileiro in Itaquera, which required arthroscopy and ruled him out for about six weeks.
