Odysseas Vlachodimos has explained the reasons why he joined Nottingham Forest last summer.
The Greek international made his debut for Steve Cooker’s side in last weekend’s win over Aston Villa despite joining in a reported £7.7m from Benfica on deadline day.
Forest’s Premier League counterparts Manchester United were also credited with an interest in Vlachodimos but he has now outlined the reasons for choosing the City Ground.
“This is also one of the main reasons why I chose to come to Nottingham Forest,” Vlachodimos told Greek website Gazzetta.
“I want to gain experience in the top league in the world, become a better goalkeeper and then see what else I can achieve.
“I found out about Nottingham’s interest towards the end of August and from the first moment it was easy to make my decision, given that the club plays in the Premier League.
“A decisive role was also played by how much I felt the club wanted and also the perspective I saw in the club.”
Forest currently sit 13th in the Premier League table ahead of their trip to West Ham on Sunday.
